Zune 2.5 ships today! Posted on May 6th
It’s no excuse for my lack of blogging, but part of the reason my frequency of posts dropped off so drastically was getting Zune 2.5 ready for release… which happens today!
Go to zune.net to get the latest version. Some of the notable enhancements include:
- Video Marketplace (download over 800 TV shows at launch from NBC, MTV, Comedy Central, etc… the list will continue to grow)
- The return of Auto Playlists and addition of sync groups!
- Zune Cards sync to the device allowing you to listen to your friends music recommendations on-the-go.
- Most of the website based Social features are now in the software… very nice.
- Reputation badges (like 360 badges) allowing you to promote the music you love.
- Metadata editing tools.
- Gapless playback.
- Integration with Windows Live Messenger.
- Overall user experience enhancements. We did a lot of listening and addressed what people cared about the most… this is an ongoing commitment.
- If you live in Canada, expect a release very shortly.
