Holiday Movie Consumption Posted on January 5th

I was able to consume a few movies during the holidays. Here is a blurb plus the trailers for each…

Night Watch / Day Watch
These two back to back movies are about the struggle between good and evil as told by some Russian dude. Very interesting, yet strange and sometimes hard to follow. If you are a scifi/fantasy time person I’d check ‘em out for sure.

Live Free or Die Hard
Ahhhh, McClane does it again! Old or not, corny or not, I love these movies. The best thing about this movie is that it is so over the top it is clear the makers don’t take themselves too seriously and are just having a fun time. I like that. I’d definatly add this one to the queue.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
Let me see… we’ve got pirates, pirate ships, rock crabs, Johnny Depp and an incredible job of makeup and effects. Right up my ally. Some say they didn’t like this or it was too long. I don’t think it was the best of the 3, but it was enjoyable none the less. Yarrrrrrhhh!

The Condemned
I was expecting a new generation of The Running Man with this movie. Take a bunch of cons and have them kill eachother for a reality TV show. That’s about the only simularity. All in all it was a fun movie to watch, but way to violent. I guess I’m used to men getting beat to death, but I’m just not used to women being beat to death with an implied rape scene. The main star is a wrestler I like to call ColdStone Cream Austin… which I think should be a flavor at Cold Stone Cremery. I’ve never seen him wrestle, but I imagine he’s a force to be reckoned with. Not going to recommend this movie.

One Response to “Holiday Movie Consumption” :

  1. Nightwatch was good; Daywatch mostly just confusing. Worth watching but not exceptional. Can’t wait to see Die Hard 4–I have to agree, they’re over the top but that’s fine. I’m one of those who didn’t really like Pirates 3 (kinda played out I think, but it is visually stunning). I’ll take your recommendation on a pass for The Condemned. Sounds crappy. thanks for the movie round-up!
