BioShock Posted on September 2nd

One of the best things about Elizebeth is that she likes to watch me play video games. Well, not completely true. She likes to watch me play well written, beautiful and scary games. She was my sidekick through most of the Resident Evil games… our favorite.

After playing the demo twice and hearing nothing but good things from coworkers and game reviewers and also some pleasant pleas from Elizebeth we purchased BioShock last night for my 360. My initial impressions are that the game is beautiful, good storyline, fantastic controls, surprisingly creepy and a ton of fun.

BioShock is a first person shooter, but unlike most FPS games, like Halo or Quake, it’s not multi-player. The game takes place in the 1960’s in an underwater city name Rapture built in the 1940’s. Rapture is the brainchild of a man who see’s morality as a means to hold back man’s potential. So he created a city, hidden from the world, where brilliant scientists could invent and experiment how they please uninterrupted by government and petty religious morality. Well, you can imagine that they did some great things, but naturally things went wrong. Now after you survive a plane crash in the middle of the ocean, coincidentally over Rapture, you are thrust into this world of nightmare, intrigue and wonder (that cliche enough way to describe it?).

Here is the trailer:

So far this game kicks major booty! When we finish it I’ll give an update.

Sean.
