Peter Jackon’s King Kong Posted on April 27th

A few weeks ago Elizebeth and I watched King Kong. Instead of the usual
single rating out of 10, this time I will be giving you four separate ratings.
Here we go…

1) Elizebeth’s Opinion: She didn’t like it at all. She left 2/3rds the way
through the movie to go to bed. In her words, "BOOOORRRRRRRRRRRING!"

2) The First Hour: Like most movies the director likes to give depth and
development to the characters of the movie. The first hour was pretty much
dedicated to this. I thought I was going to see a movie about a big ol’
gorilla, but all I’m seeing is lame development of lame characters I could care
less about. I don’t care about no stinkin’ movie cast fallen on hard times.
Just show me the monkey. SHOW ME THE MONKEY! The first hour gets 3/10.

3) The Middle Hour and a Half: The first hour almost put me to sleep and just before it got to the point of no return the movie finally starts. Everything from crazy tribes to big ol’ dinosaurs to freaky bugs to the king himself. The middle section is like a fun ride at Disneyland. I totally loved the jungle adventures. Some parts were totally cheesy, but fun none the less. 9/10.

4) The Finale: The king runs around town and climbs up the Empire State Building for the oh so famous plane batting scene. Pretty cool in general, but really it’s just so so. 7/10.

If you do watch it, skip the first hour and you’ll have lots of fun.

Sean.
