War of the Worlds Posted on February 26th
Good ol’ Netflix was kind enough yet again to send me a movie. They sure are nice over there. :) This time it was 2005’s version of War of the Worlds staring Tom "Murderer of Oprah" Cruise and Dakota Fanning. Like with many remakes, I’ve never seen the original nor did I know a single thing about the story. I was expecting a big block buster movie full of special effects and a so so storyline and I guess that’s sorta what I got. But I really enjoyed it. I was even a little anxious at a couple points in the movie.
The special effects were very good. So good they didn’t really look like special effects. They just looked real. There was lots of carnage which is always fun. And I got a kick out of how these aliens killed humans.
So, I do recommend it for an enjoyable couple hours. I’d like to see the original now. I give it 8/10 Golden Tripod "Kill all humans" death machines.
